A blazing good gift at SF Design!
SF Design‘s September freebie is this fabulous blue blazer. When you land, to your left is the womenswear store and to your right is the menswear store. Both of them have a free blazer set out for L$0!
Mar headed to the lovely Weston Marina for her photoshoot, and opted for yellow accessories. The Maya bag is just L$5 from Chuculet, and the Everyday Hoops earrings are just L$1 from the top floor discount room at Ticky Tacky. Other items worn include: The Peiran shirt by Axel (an old group gift), Dante shoes and Voyage sunglasses by Kalnins (not free, or even cheap; sorry!) and the L$10 Kerava Shorts from the Glam Affair/Beauty Avatar Couture discount room. Hair is from the freebie Susan fatpack by Exile at Savoir Hair.

New at The Dressing Room Blue
Yes, it’s that time again: a new collection of designer cheapies at The Dressing Room Blue. Mar snagged some items to showcase for you :)

Summer Blues
SF Design has its new July freebies for men and women out, and both are fabby sarongs (c’mon boys; get your Beckham on! *g*) and prim-toed Ramses sandals with a great HUD for skin and pedicure colour customisation. Mar’s teamed hers with a L$1 tank top from the upstairs discount section at A Piece of Candy, and a L$10 tote bag from the upstairs discount section at Baby Monkey. Now all I need is a beach!
Pretty it up
EDIT: The Dressing Room items featured in this post have now GONE. See this post for some items from the new collection.
Let’s get glamorous, girls. Today I’m going to blog about some cheap stuff, and about some stuff that’s a teeny bit over the blog’s L$50 remit, but which is worth getting. Today Mar visited four places: The Dressing Room, the new Dressing Room Blue, the Beauty Avatar/Glam Affair Discount section, and FabFree. What did she get? A ton of lovely stuff, from dresses and pantsuits, to free and cheap skins from big-name designers. (And boys, this post isn’t just for girls. Although I’ve only blogged girly stuff, hop behind the cut anyway to get the SLurl for the Glam Affair Discount section, because they have a LOT of male cheapies there, including skins, shapes, and clothing.)

New default avatars!
Oh my gosh, what a surprise awaited me when I checked the Library folder of my Inventory. Under ‘clothing’ and then ‘initial outfits’ are twelve new default avatars created by Adam n Eve. I tried on all the female options, and girls you need to look at them! If nothing else, the shoes and hair deserve places in your main folders, and some of the outfits are fabby, too! Guys, there are outfits for you, too, but you need to check those out yourselves; I didn’t have time to get around to them today.
Here’s a sample outfit: the Female Rocker. It comes with everything you see here, including two colours of t-shirt.
Hop behind the cut for the others.
A day out in London
Mar has been browsing the new items at Magi Take (check out their blog for updates) and she put together a comfy outfit for schlepping around the shops. All of the Magi Take items are available for L$10 singly or in fatpacks for between L$35 and L$45, depending on the item, so if you can afford it, go for the fatpacks! Hair is Davina II from ETD’s discount section (if you buy the Elika’s Pack options, you get five colours for L$5).
The boots come in small and medium sizes (so boys, you can wear them, too) and the bag has hand and shoulder options.
What better way to relax after a long day of shopping than a sit-down in a nice park? Both pics were shot at the gorgeous Kensington W8 London sim.
Arriving in style
She took an overnight flight from Monaco. A quick stop in the plane’s loo to change her top and touch up her make-up, and she’s ready to face the paparazzi.

Magical Prices at Magi Take
Magi Take is one store everyone should have a landmark to. The clothing (and, now, furniture) they sell is high-quality and as cheap as anything. There’s female stuff and unisex stuff that works brilliantly for the guys (and, of course, for the girls!) Mar took a wander over there today, to check out the new items and buy up half the store. Here are just a few of the looks she put together.
First up, a cosy cardi and denim skirt set that would be perfect for schlepping around the shops, snapping up bargains in the autumn sales. I’ve listed the prices on the pictures, and in this pic there’s also a group gift item. More on how to get that in a minute.
Hop behind the cut for more pics and info on the group freebies!
Dollarbies at Slanted Fox
Winter blogged about the dollarbie sale at Slanted Fox over on FreeStyle, and I had to run over to see what was available. Well, just about everything in the store is marked down to 1L$ for the entirety of September, at which time the store will begin to trade under a new name: Visual Haiku.
There’s classy stuff, urban stuff, hair, shoes, bags, stuff for guys, stuff for girls. Did I mention it was all just 1L$?
The weather’s getting a bit chilly this side of the pond, so how about this snuggly Hot Chocolate set (including boots so warm I can feel my toes toasting!) for 1L$?
Or maybe you fancy this Winter Wage outfit. 1L$ for all the clothes, 1L$ for the hat, and the shoes are the Cutie Pooties in velvet black (other colours available) for 1L$, too. Guys, there’s a male version of this outfit for you (sans skirt, you will be relieved to know *g*)

Mellow Yellow
Yellow. It’s a hard colour to match, and a hard colour to wear. The danger of looking like a bumblebee is ever-present!
However, the Peppermint Blue Free Store has a few yellow outfits, and Mar was up for a challenge. Mixed with black, yellow can work well, so here’s what she did with them.
The first outfit is Assistance Pack #081121. This contains a black coat, yellow leggings, bag, limited-edition spectacles (purple lenses, which I re-tinted yellow, to match the outfit), black boots (which I’m not wearing here; see in a moment for credits for those) and the usual plethora of shapes and skins.
Mar has teamed it with the Neo Boots from House of Curios. These cost 40L$ and have a myriad of colour change options, so you can match them to just about any outfit you want. Here, Mar opted for black, to complete the outfit. Find them in-world (here) and on XstreetSL (here).
The second Peppermint Blue pack is #081107. This one comes with the usual skins and shapes, and this yellow coat outfit (long and short coat skirts included), skirt, socks, boots (not worn), bag and lingerie. I’ve teamed this set with the 1L$ Lilith Lime shoes, from Ilayda (here, on XstreetSL).
The hair in both pics is from Waka & Yuki’s free and discount stall, upstairs at the Peppermint Blue Free Store. When you’ve taken the teleporter upstairs, turn right and head for the first market stall. Mar chose the Free5 hair, because it had gold stars in it that matched the outfit.
