Mar’s just been over to Maitreya to grab their freebie fatpack of ‘Aimee’ hair. Alas, the slinky stiletto shoes that Maitreya had out for the longest time are now gone, but in their place is this great hair pack. Aimee comes in 21 colours, and also contains a useful notecard with Windlight Environment Editor settings for lighting so you can always look your best *g*

Decollage, in Caribe sim, has put seven t-shirts in a pink vendor down to L$1 in the store, and they’re cute as all hell. Mar bought a few of them, then took a gander around the rest of the little store.

I’m planning on doing a sim freebie walkaround in Caribe very soon, as it’s one of my favourite sims to visit. Meanwhile though, since I’ve not posted in a couple of days, hop behind the cut for a selection of Decollage goodies.

This post was blighted by a huge number of crashes, so it took me almost all day to complete. Highly frustrating, but I am nothing if not dedicated *g* I would have taken more screenshots, but I suffered a total of 19 crashes while making this, so just staying logged and finding the freebies was difficult enough, let alone remembering to screencap them all!

Today I’m doing a sim freebie walkaround (including dollarbies, of course, which are just as good as freebies!). What does this entail? Well, I take a walk around a specific sim and screencap and link you to all of the freebies and dollarbies that I find there. I try to pick interesting sims, rather than just mega-malls: sims that have a great build with lots of fun stuff to look at, poseballs to try out (useful for taking screencaps/snapshots) and maybe even some free-to-copy items lying around.

Today’s sim freebie walkaround is at Mischief Cove, which is home to some great stores that you might have heard of.

This is the second in my series of ’series’ posts *g* Like the Dollarbies at ETD post, this focuses on one specific store: in this case, Style Your Destiny, at Granymyr.

Style Your Destiny is a great place for good-quality, easy-on-the-wallet clothes and skins. Together with LaynieWear, SYD has created some fab newbie-affordable items, and among those are SYD’s dollarbie skins. At the time of writing this post there are some twelve dollarbie skins for women (sold as separates and not as part of a shape/skin package) and two for men.

OK, boys. We’ve dealt with the more… sensitive areas of your anatomy. Now do you think we could have a word about shapes? Skins? Clothing? Footwear? Hair? And… all that other stuff some of you have such trouble finding.

Listen, you don’t have to pay a fortune to look reasonably decent. Yes, you’ll get a bloody good shape at KMADD - for about 1000L$. And yes, you’ll get probably the best male skin in-world (Dante) at Naughty - for about 1500L$. But when you’re new and not sure you want to invest that much? You probably have a bit of money gleaned from money trees and camping, but all the free stuff you’re finding is probably a bit, well… crap.

Not if you know where to look, and lads, I have been looking for ya. Behind the cut is a very small selection of shapes, skins, hair, clothing, shoes and other bits (together with landmarks, of course). They might not be perfectly to your taste, but for now - until you decide you’re gonna break open that wallet and set the moths free - they’ll stop you from looking like this:

So I wandered over there to grab it, then took a look around. Oh my word, what a lovely little shop, with a great selection of good-quality basics, and all incredibly cheap! I spent a total of 32L there, and came out with my metaphorical shopping bags heaving with stuff.

Guys, get over to Truth’s store in Sweet Sorrow. They currently have a fatpack of 72 colours in this great, sexy style called Danny, for just 1L$.

Ladies, there’s something for you, too. Two more dollarbies: Deanne and Danny 2, also both in fatpacks. And, as before, the guy’s styles usually work just as well on the girls!

Also in the sim, if you hunt around a bit, Fuse has a sweet little flower ring freebie on their new items display, just inside the door, and Sand Shack Surf Co. have three dollarbies set out on the steps: a bag containing a halter top, a pair of denim bermuda shorts, and a tintable polo, and two little wrapped presents, containing a graphic tee and a pair of messy artist shorts. There’s also a ‘coming soon’ ad in front of one of the empty stores, for Kookla, and beside it is a dollarbie box containing several nice tops.

Got 19L to spare? How about getting some hair with it? How about getting a mind-boggling 2648 hairstyles for those 19L? No, I’m not kidding, no it’s not a scam, and most importantly, no they’re no crap. They are the dollarbies on offer at ETD. (Incidentally, I’m tagging this post as both dollarbie and freebie, because good grief, people, one dollar isn’t breaking the bank, even for a newbie…)

I swear, I counted them right. There are 16 style packs, each containing 161 colours each (yes, 161! You’ve got no excuses for saying your hair doesn’t match your outfit!) and three style packs, each containing 24 colours.

Also on the dollarbie wall are three fatpacks of clothing, each featuring eight colours: corduroy pants, multistripe dresses, and a cute sleep shorts and tank set. And as if that wasn’t enough, turn left a little to find some amazing shoes and ankle boots, all very reasonably priced at 25L each.

It’s all ETD, save the jewellery. The choker is the Everyday Stone Choker (amber) by Opium, available in the jewellery section at The Free Dove. And the bracelet is the Copper Bracelet by Hellcat designs, available at the FabFree store. Both are freebies.

I’m absolutely wiped out. I’ve spent the better part of two hours scouring the Retrology sim for their amazing Easter egg hunt, and I think I’ve finally got everything. I daren’t even look at Mar’s inventory (*wince*), but if you love vintage and retro, from 30s to 70s, then get down to Retrology as soon as you can. The hunt won’t last forever!

One great thing: all the eggs have hovertext, so they’re easy to spot. But be warned: they are everywhere. So look high and low, and check out some of the great poseballs dotted all over the sim, too!

Me? I’m going for a lie down, a cuppa coffee, and a slice of the apple pie that I got in the sim’s cafe…
